It was a dream everyone thought was impossible.

Despite the various setbacks that hindered LPC’s 1st Grand Alumni Homecoming from becoming a reality, the “core” group of Batch ’82; namely, Atty. Jerome B. Aragones, Engr. Ariel Tirol, Cheryl Filardo de Guzman, Socorro Paño dela Torre and Ferdinand Mercado, still pushed through the challenging and arduous task.

“Now is the time. This is the time. The very first grand alumni homecoming staged in the school’s history. The theme of this year’s homecoming says it all – ’82 goes 25… Balik LPC. After 25 years, here we are, from different walks of life, wanting to show Las Piñas College that we did not fail the institution, that we never failed the institution.” Atty. Jerome Aragones, head of the Las Piñas College High School Alumni Association Inc., said.

And so, LPC’s 1st Grand Alumni Homecoming came into being.

Hosted by Batch ‘82 Silver Jubilarians, the event was held at the Las Piñas College Gymnasium last December 8. It started off with the LPC Teachers Chorale leading the National Anthem and a doxology, and a “Making of the Alumni Homecoming” flash presentation. Mrs. Leoncia Pedrajas, delivered the welcome address. Inspiring messages were given by Dr. Luz Co Uy, Dr. Helen B. Aragones and Mr. David C. Uy. Atty. Aragones also shared his thoughts and led everyone to sing the Las Piñas College Hymn. A special number was then presented by the grade school and high school teachers. The recognition of all batches soon followed and acoustic bands performed throughout the rest of the evening to provide entertainment for the crowd. The event ended with a nostalgic presentation, titled, “Alumni, Noon at Ngayon”.

Dra. Helen B. Aragones is the principal of Graceland Academy which is where I was in grade school. I graduated there. I was just googling some big names and her name came into my mind. I never thought I'd found her here. :)

I think I was batch 87' --- my name is Robert Sebastian. I would really like to know what happened to my batch --- I would really love to see all the A's sing together again. Is there a way to acquire all the batch graduates... or acquire a reprint of the year books?

Hi everyone, I am a pioneer of LPC. the very first year the school opened in 1975, I was in first year H.S. I graduated my BSN bath 1993 in LPC too! I wasn't aware of an alumni homecoming! was it for H.S and College? I hope next time I will be able to attend, but please send us notice or invitation, there are lots of Nurses all over the world who graduated in this school and I am sure are proud to be a part of the alumni homecoming. thank you.
